| Why adopt a Red Panda? Red pandas are almost extinct in the western portion of their range. We are working to stop the destruction of their habitat in Nepal and India. Help us continue our work by adopting one of the beautiful red panda found in our work area. Choose one of the following red pandas to adopt:
Niyati: Female (New!)
Niyati is a young female panda who lives in the Surkhet forest of Ilam district in eastern Nepal. Niyati and other red panda in the Ilam district have had to adapt to the increasing development of this region as tea production has become a major use of land in the area.
Sanju: Female
I am 2 years old and spend most of my day sleeping and roaming around the Red Panda Protected Forest. I love to eat bamboo and hang out near streams.
Bhim: Male
I am named after a strong Indian hero and am the father of Sita’s cubs. I like to make sure they are protected and travel with them to the stream and show them how to escape danger.
Sita: Female
I’m four years old and have two cubs that I am keeping safe from leopards and domestic dogs. I love taking my cubs to the stream to drink water and teach them how to climb trees and eat bamboo.
Pinju: MaleI love to curl around the branches of oak trees and eat sorbus fruits. I hope you can come an visit me in Nepal soon. |
