Unfortunately, traditional stoves are the prevalent cooking and heating method among communities in Nepal's red panda range. These stoves also require a lot of fuelwood — up to 33 kg a day — causing deforestation and loss of habitat.
We’ve distributed 355 improved cooking stoves to Forest Guardians (FGs), herders, homestay owners and other local people since 2017! One hundred and seventy-five households have received stoves in 2021 and we are in the process of distributing 75 more in Jajarkot, Kalikot, and Rukum districts. You can help us make a difference for the health of families in Nepal while protecting red panda habitat!
